The History of CGSC
Established in 2010, the Community Gardens of Santa Clarita was started by the efforts of the Garden Club of Santa Clarita with the support of the City of Santa Clarita. Over the years the gardens have grown from 80 garden plots to 131 garden plots, universal access boxes, two native butterfly gardens, two California native gardens, an orchard, an herb garden, a large composting area, a children’s garden, a garden shed, a greenhouse, an off the grid solar powered system, a free library stand, a chicken coop, our friends of the garden arbor benches, and our pergola seating area. We have increased our community programs including adult and children garden education workshops and classes.
